Collection: Marcie Maynard

Marcie Maynard sees her monotype work as experimental and free, an activity informing the painting she does in oil and pastel. Her work is inspired by the surrounding landscapes of New Hampshire and Vermont near where she lives in South Acworth, NH with her furniture-making husband Peter.

Exploring in her monotype prints color and texture, foreground and background, juxtaposition of careful compositions and tonal or abstract vocabularies, Marcie shares that in her monotypes she strives to create a sense of place that viewers can enter and experience.
